About Us: The Old Grumpy Project is a veteran-focused nonprofit that raises awareness about the impact of PTSD on Veterans, First Responders, and their families. We aim to educate the public through documentaries, podcasts, and social media campaigns, reduce stigma, and advocate for better mental health support. Our mission is to decrease PTSD-induced suicides in these communities through storytelling, education, and outreach.
Job Summary: The Business Manager will ensure the smooth operation of our nonprofit. This role involves overseeing financial health, managing daily operations, handling budgets, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with nonprofit management experience and a passion for supporting the Veteran and First Responder communities, particularly around mental health and PTSD issues.
Key Responsibilities:
● Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management. Monitor accounts, invoices, and payroll. Prepare financial reports for stakeholders.
● Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations, oversee staff/volunteers, and implement strategic goals.
● Grant Writing & Fundraising: Collaborate on grant writing, donor relations, and identifying new revenue streams.
● Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure legal compliance, manage contracts, and oversee risk management.
● Program Support: Coordinate the production of multimedia content related to PTSD awareness and support outreach efforts.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
● 3+ years of nonprofit management experience.
● Strong financial management skills.
● Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
● Knowledge of nonprofit tax laws and 501(c)(3) regulations.
● Passion for supporting Veterans and First Responders.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with multimedia production and digital marketing.
● Background working with Veteran or First Responder communities.
● Knowledge of PTSD and suicide prevention.

Our projects often feature historic military vehicles, “Old Grumpy” and “Old Lumpy,” as conversation starters in our mission to increase awareness and foster support for those facing PTSD.
Job Summary: We seek a dedicated and experienced Grant Writer to join our team and help secure funding to further our mission. The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, researching, and applying for grants that align with The Old Grumpy Project’s goals.
